Kathmandu May 24 : CPN-UML’s 23 members of the House of Representatives have sided with senior leader Madhav Nepal. They have signed a writ petition in the Supreme Court against the dissolution of the parliament along with 146 members of other opposition parties.

Out of the 26 lawmakers who supported Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba for the post of Prime Minister, 23 have signed the writ petition against the dissolution of the parliament. The remaining three have returned in favor of Prime Minister Oli.

Gokarna Bista, Pavitra Niraula Kharel and Ganesh Pahadi have not signed the agreement.

Deuba had demanded the appointment of a new prime minister with the signatures of 146 lawmakers.
