Devkota defeated home ministerThapa and elected as a member of the National Assembly

Kathmandu, May : Defeating the outgoing Home Minister and CPN-UML candidate Ram Bahadur Thapa, Dr. Khimlal Devkota has won. Devkota got 5088 votes.

Devkota had the support of the Nepali Congress, the CPN-Maoist Center, the Janata Samajwadi Party and the CPN-UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal group. Thapa was backed by the UML and RPP.
