Kathmandu 14 May : Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed dissatisfaction after Madhav Kumar Nepal, senior leader of the Communist Party of Nepal-UML, decided not to resign from his party immediately and to hold discussions to bring the party back to the status quo.
Briefing the party standing committee meeting held on Thursday evening, Prachanda said that Madhav Nepal had backtracked on his commitment.Although he did not use the word ‘betrayal’.
Madhavji had said that we are ready to make any sacrifice. The same commitment has been made to Deubaji, ‘a standing committee member said, quoting Prachanda.’ Earlier, 28-30 people had said they would resign. Politically, Jhala Nath Khanal and Bhim Rawal had even said that they would resign. But it is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
Prachanda had also said that Madhav left due to national, international and internal pressure. Stating that no matter how much he did, nothing was done as the maths was not enough.
According to Ganesh Sah, a member of the Standing Committee of the Maoist Center, Madhav Nepal’s move has pushed back the Left Movement of Nepal.
“If he had fought within the UML from the very beginning, everyone would have made their point. It would have been better if Deuba and Poudel had fought in the Congress, ‘he said.’ Even a meeting on Friday at a leader’s house would have sent a positive message. But it is clear that sitting in the house of a trader is also a mediator. Even then, broker capitalism prevailed. ‘
Another standing committee member of the UCPN (M), Lilamani Pokhrel, said that the situation had arisen because the Madhav Nepal faction was fighting over method and means rather than ideology.
“If there is a conflict of ideas, we can move forward. But he and many of his teammates had a fight with Oli’s instincts. After Oli said that he would abide by the rules and regulations, everything was settled, ‘said Pokharel.’ This is not a battle of ideas. In the long run, it will only hurt Madhavji. ‘
Pokharel said that even the Nepali Congress was outraged by Madhav’s move.
UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Oli’s party has understood Nepal’s move as a compulsion.
‘He even gave assurances to many. He repeatedly visited the houses of Congress and Maoist leaders to see if his own party’s government could be overthrown. This gradually embarrassed him, ‘said a standing committee member from Oli closer. This is a positive aspect for the party. He had no choice but to make that decision. ‘
The leader claims that even if he resigns from the post of MP, Nepal will not have even 10 MPs in the last case.
