Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama marked their 28th wedding anniversary by calling on Americans to help their communities vote.

“Even with everything going on, I wanted to take a moment to say happy anniversary to the love of my life. Every day with @MichelleObama makes me a better husband, a better father, and a better human,” former President Obama shared on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself and the former first lady.

“This year, while we appreciate all your well-wishes, what we’d really love is for each of you to reach out to one person in your life who might not vote. Help them get registered. Help them make a plan to cast their ballot. Send them to iwillvote.com to get started,” he continued.

Michelle Obama also shared that she and the former president “have a request” for their followers ahead of election day.

“Pick one person in your life who might not vote and make sure they do. Tell us about it in the comments! That’s an anniversary message of the best kind,” the former first lady wrote.

“28 years with this one. I love @BarackObama for his smile, his character, and his compassion. So grateful to have him as a partner through everything life throws at us,” she also said.

The posts racked up hundreds of thousands of likes on Instagram less than an hour after they were shared.

The Obamas this week sent their best wishes to President Trump and first lady Melania Trump after they tested positive for COVID-19.

The former president shared that, “Obviously, we’re in the midst of a big political battle right now, and while there’s a lot at stake, let’s remember that we’re all Americans. We’re all human beings. And we want everyone to be healthy, no matter our party.”
