Bara bus accident: Nine of 16 dead identified (Update)

HETAUDA, Oct 6: Nine people who died in a bus accident in Jitpur Simara sub-metropolitan city-22 Amlekhganj of Bara have been identified. The death toll in the bus accident has reached 16.

Superintendent of Police, Bamdev Gautam said that nine of the 12 people who died during treatment at Hetauda Hospital have been identified.

Among the deceased are Munni Devi Chaurasia, 16, of Birgunj Metropolitan City, Parsa, Shuba Lakshmi Shrestha, 55, of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, 7, Swastika Shrestha, 20, of the same place, Nagarin Khatun, 10, of Kalaiya, Bara, Suresh BK, of Amlekhganj, Bara, Intaj Ansari, of Kalaiya, Bara, Lal Bahadur Bogati, 45, of Khokhaldhunga, Ambika Kadel of Gorkha and Sakem Prasad Chaurasiya of Birgunj-16 of Parsa.

Although the number of passengers on the bus could not be ascertained, the police said that there were about 50 people on board.
