Kathmandu 4 August : The government has announced to hold elections of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly on November 20.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singh Darbar on Thursday announced that the elections for the members of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
A month ago, the Election Commission had recommended that the election date be fixed on November 18 with a schedule of 120 days. However, the government has fixed the election period of 107 days for November 20 for the provincial and representative assembly member elections.
Government spokesperson communication minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed that the cabinet meeting decided to hold the election on November 20. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba discussed with the top leaders of the ruling coalition on Wednesday and reached a consensus to hold the election of the Province and House of Representatives members on November 20.
