KATHMANDU May 1 : The Then Ambasdor to Nepal of India Vinay Mohan Kwatra, has assumed the responsibility of the Secretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
Kwatra took over as foreign secretary on Sunday morning, ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi informed via Tweet.
Bagchi also wished the newly appointed Foreign Secretary a successful tenure.
After Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringala went into retirement, the government of India had appointed Kwatra, who was then serving as the Ambassador to Nepal, as Foreign Secretary in the first week of April.
Kwatra, has spent 32 years in India’s diplomatic service. It is believed that relations with Nepal will reach new heights as soon as he becomes the Secretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. Having said that kwatra is highly sharpen and unlighted diplomat of India.
