Independent candidate Balen Shah widens lead in Kathmandu metropolis

Kathmandu 15 May : Independent candidate Balendra Shah has widened his lead in the race for Kathmandu Mayor . It is initial situation of vote counting as more votes cast in the local-level elections are counted.

As per the latest update, Shah has received 1,890 votes. His closest contestant Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML has got 1,097 votes. Sirjana Singh of the Nepali Congress has garnered 949 votes.

Counting is underway in wards 1, 2, 3, 4, and 32 of Kathmandu.
