Top leaders of three major ruling parties hold meeting

Kathmandu, Feb 10:
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal have held a meeting today.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s official quarters at Baluwatar. During the meeting, the three leaders discussed the contemporary political topics, said Govinda Pariyar, the Press Chief to the Prime Minister.
A debate is on in recent days among the major parties regarding passing the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact from the parliament.
Similarly, the parties in the ruling coalition are in discussion in multiple phases regarding preparations for the local level election after the meeting of the Council of Ministers last Monday decided to hold the election on May 13.
Also this morning Nepali Congress leader Dr Shekhar Koirala met with Maoist Centre Chair Dahal at his residence and held talks on MCC and local level election among other topics, Koirala’s secretariat stated.
