Kathmandu Feb 6 : Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has urged the opposition to propose the US assistance project Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC) only after the election.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba sought assistance in moving the MCC forward during a meeting with Prachanda, chairman of the ruling CPN-MC and KP Sharma Oli, chairman of the opposition CPN-UML. But Prachanda, proposed postponing the MCC until the election.

“Regarding the MCC, he has asked the opposition to send a proposal to help the house run smoothly or to move ahead only after the election with the joint opposition and ruling coalition,” said UML general secretary Shankar Pokharel. Pokhrel was in attending the meeting.
