Kathmandu Feb 14 : CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that they have no intention to defend Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JBR.

At a meeting of the UML parliamentary party on Monday, he said that they only opposed the time and tendency to file an impeachment motion against JBR. According to UML parliamentary party chief whip Vishal Bhattarai, the impeachment motion was filed with the intention of postponing the election, passing the MCC and humiliating the court.

“Now there is a tendency for the impeachment motion against the chief justice to postpone or delay the election, to pass the MCC anyway and to continue attacking democracy,” Bhattarai was quoted as saying.

Oli said that the UML was positive towards Chief Justice Jabra or that the UML did not intend to carry and protect him.

“His innumerable weaknesses have been seen, he has been charged, he was the one who led the impeachment yesterday.

Oli had said that the impeachment was for wrong purpose and that he would defend it.
