Kathmandu Jan 28 : The Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress has been formed. At a virtual meeting of the Central Committee held on Friday, Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba proposed the names of the members of the Executive Committee. The meeting formed a 37-member executive committee.
The committee has 13 automatic members including Chairman Deuba, Deputy Chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka, Dhanraj Gurung, General Secretary Bishwaprakash Sharma, Gagan Thapa, Joint General Ministers Jeevan Pariyar, Mahalakshmi Upadhyay, Bhishmaraj Andembe, Badri Pandey, Farmullah Mansur, Mahendra Yadav, Kishore Singh Rathore and Umakanta Chaudhary.
President Deuba has included 24 members of the Central Working Committee, including former office bearers, in the performance committee on the basis of seniority. As per the constitution, the executive committee has 46 members. Of which, the treasurer and the spokesperson are automatically members. Now, Chairman Deuba will be able to nominate 7 central members in the committee.
Two months after the conclusion of the General Convention, Deuba has not been able to complete the work of the Central Working Committee. As a result, even the Central Performance Committee has become incomplete.
In the first phase, Ramchandra Poudel, Gopalman Shrestha, Prakashman Singh, Vimalendra Nidhi, Vijay Kumar Gachchhadar, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Dr. Shashank Koirala, Chitralekha Yadav, Dr. Ramsharan Mahat, Arjun Narasimha KC, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Sunil Bahadur Thapa, Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Bal Bahadur KC, Balakrishna Khanna, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Uma Regmi, Ramesh Rijal, Dr. Narayan Khadka, Jipchiring Lama, Sujata Koirala, NP Saud, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi and Ananda Prasad Dhungana have been included in the performance committee.
As per the past practice, Deuba nominated Shekhar Koirala, Central members Bal Bahadur KC, Bal Krishna Khan, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Ramesh Rijal, Jipchiring Lama, Padmanarayan Chaudhary, Dilendra Prasad Badu, NP Sawad, Ananda Dhungana and Jeevan Bahadur Shahi in the list of 31 members.
