Kathmandu: Secretary of the Ministry of Physical, Infrastructure and Transport, Rabindra Man Shrestha, has said that the Ministry of Finance has stopped the budget payment of around Rs 2.5 billion. Speaking at a meeting of the Finance Committee on Monday, Secretary Shrestha said that the overall expenditure was low as the Ministry of Finance had stopped the payment of ongoing and already completed projects.

‘About Rs 2.5 billion has not been paid. It is not clear why the finance ministry is delaying the payment, ‘he said. He also said that various road division offices which were earlier scrapped are being rehabilitated.

“It was decided to dismiss some of the divisions. But after their dismissal, the cost of roads in 5/6 districts has come to a standstill, ‘he said.
