UML Legislative General Convention begins,  not seen Pushpalal, Madan and Manmohan portrait in main stage

Kathmandu : CPN-UML Legislative General Convention has started at Godavari in Lalitpur. The Legislative General Convention has started in the hall of the International Conference Center at Godavari.

The main stage of the hall of the General Convention inauguration ceremony does not have a picture of the prominent communist leaders as in the past. UML used to put a big picture of the founding general secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal Pushpalal Shrestha, UML general secretary Madan Bhandari and the first communist prime minister Manmohan Adhikari in its programs.

These pictures have not been placed on the main stage of the assembly hall. The election symbol is the sun in the middle and the national flag of Nepal is placed on the left and right.

Inside the hall, in the left corner of another banner reading ‘People’s Multi-Party Democracy’, there is a picture of Pushpalal, Madan Bhandari and Manmohan Adhikari.

A full-length mascot of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has been placed at various places in the convention center premises as well Kathmandu valley’s Main Street.

More than 6,000 delegates from across the country are participating in the convention. On the first day of the three-day convention, Chairman Oli will present the political report, General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel will present the organizational proposal and Deputy General Secretary and Organization Department Chief Vishnu Poudel will present the legislative amendment proposal. The reports will be passed on Saturday with group discussions and necessary suggestions.

Party spokesperson Pradip Gyawali informed that the party’s policy and method will be decided by the Legislative General Convention.

The UML National Convention will be held next December.
