Kathmandu : Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the cabinet could be expanded today.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of a TV station today, Prachanda said, “If it is the same, the swearing in will be done today, it will be completed (by the Council of Ministers).”
He said that a new effort has been made to bring forward all the oppressed communities, especially women.

According to Prachanda, the CPN (MC) has decided to send 50 percent women to the cabinet on behalf of the CPN (MC). The CPN (MC) had finalized the names of three ministers and one minister of state on Wednesday.

The CPN-MC had recommended Devendra Poudel, Maheshwar Gahatraj, Shashi Shrestha as ministers and BodhMaya Yadav as ministers of state. The government already has Finance Minister Janardan Sharma and Energy Minister Pampha Bhusal from the Maoist center.

The Nepali Congress, the CPN-US and the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) have yet to finalize the names of the new ministers. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is preparing to expand the cabinet today after other parties have also finalized their names.
