Kathmandu : A delegation team of Nepali Congress has left for India at the invitatIon of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). A team led by Joint General Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat left for New Delhi on Thursday morning.
Nepali Congress leaders Ajay Chaurasia and Uday Shamsher Rana are in the team. During the five-day visit, he is scheduled to hold meetings with the President and leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party as well as the Indian External Affairs Minister.
A few weeks ago, Bharatiya Janata Party’s foreign affairs chief Dr.Vijay Chauthaiva visited Nepal at the invitation of former foreign minister and joint general secretary of NC Dr Mahat. During that visit, Chauthaiwale met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, and all top leaders of the Nepali Congress and other political parties.
After that, a team led by Dr. Mahat left for India today at the invitation of Bharatiya Janata Party. Before leaving for Delhi, Dr Mahat said the visit would help further strengthen ties between the Nepali Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party, as well as between Nepal and the Indian government.
He said, “Some time ago, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party came to Nepal and today we are leaving for India. This exchange of visits between the two parties will help in mutual understanding and mutual cooperation.”
He said that such visits would enhance mutual and common understanding as well as help the two parties and the governments of the two countries to share their concerns and issues.
He said that the delegation of the Nepali Congress would also help in conveying the issues of interest and concern of Nepal to the Government of India through the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
