Kathmandu : CPN-UML has removed the post of senior leader from the party’s constitution. Earlier, there was a legal provision for the outgoing chairperson to be a senior leader.

Now, there will be only 13 office bearers in the UML, including the chairperson, five vice-chairpersons, the general secretary and six secretaries. Similarly, the Central Discipline Commission, Audit Commission and Election Commission will have 12 members including chairperson, vice chairperson and secretary.

Earlier, the commission had only a chairperson and a secretary. As there are no former party chiefs in the UML at present, there is no senior leader post.
