UML tough stance :  resignation of Speaker, not to attend all-party meeting

 

Kathmandu: Main Opposition party CPN-UML will not participate in the all-party meeting convened by the Speaker this afternoon.

UML Chief Whip Vishal Bhattarai informed Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota over phone that he would not participate in the meeting.

Bhattarai had asked the speaker to resign if he did not post the information that 14 posts of UML MPs were vacant.

“It simply came to our notice then that we had to post a notice of resignation ,” Bhattarai said.

He said that after Bhattarai said this, the speaker hung up the phone without answering.

UML has been obstructing the parliament sitting saying that the speaker has played a role in the UML split. The Speaker had called an all-party meeting at 2.30 pm today to find a solution of stalemate of parliament.
