UML MPs should resign immediately: Baburam Bhattarai

Kathmandu : Chairman of the Federal Council of the ruling Janata Samajwadi Party, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, has challenged the CPN-UML MPs to resign. Bhattarai, who is also a former prime minister, remarked that the UML, which has dissolved the parliament two and a half times, should be ashamed to come to the parliament.

On his way out of the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, he said that the UML lawmakers should resign and go among the people instead of blocking the parliament.

Chairman Bhattarai also reiterated that it was a matter of shame for the UML to talk about the supremacy of the constitution and parliamentary dignity. He said, “Whoever dissolves the parliament twice. Those people are ashamed to maintain the constitutional supremacy. Saying that you do not follow the decision of the Supreme Court and constitutional supremacy? And parliamentary dignity is maintained.

The parliament that has been dissolved should be ashamed to come to that parliament. I resigned from the party immediately after the second Constituent Assembly in 2072 BS. If they have even a little bit of morality, they should resign and go to the people. ‘

Stating that the UML had shown the culmination of shamelessness by creating obstacles in the dissolved parliament, Bhattarai said he did not want to comment further.
