Businessman and Diplomat Rukmashamsher Rana has passed away.

Kathmandu : Businessman Rukmashamsher Rana has passed away.
According to Rana’s son-in-law Anil Keshari Shah, he died at the age of 85. He had been undergoing regular dialysis after a kidney transplant.
He died at his residence at Battisputali in Kathmandu on Saturday morning.
Rukma, the youngest son of Nepali Congress founder Shuvarnashamser, was India’s ambassador from 2009 to 2011.

Rana has also served as the two-term member secretary of the National Sports Council. He was the eighth and thirteenth member secretaries of the National Sports Council, Nepal. Since then, he had led the Nepal Olympic Committee for a long time. He is still the honorary chairman of the Olympic Committee.

According to her son-in-law Anil Keshari Shah, Rana will be cremated on Sunday.
