Kathmandu: CPN-UML Standing Committee and Central Committee meeting is being held today. Chairman KP Sharma Oli has called a meeting of the standing committee at 11 am.

Central Office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang said that the standing committee meeting will decide the agenda to be presented at the central committee meeting. After the end of the standing committee meeting, the central committee meeting is being held at 3 pm. Both the meetings have been convened at Tulsilal Memorial Building in Chysal, Lalitpur.

Central member Vishal Bhattarai said that the meeting would focus on the preparations for the tenth general convention. ‘Necessary decisions are made about holding conventions at the ward and local level. The decision will be taken as the assembly session has also been scheduled, ”said Bhattarai. The date of the Legislative Assembly has been fixed for the 2nd week of September

Leaders of senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal’s group have been absent from the meeting convened by Chairman Oli. The central committee meeting of the group, which ended last Friday, has decided to bring the party unity to a meaningful conclusion on the basis of a ten-point agreement. But the leaders of the group have been taking a stand not to attend the meeting convened by Oli until an agreement is reached.
