UML General Convention 26 -28 November, Legislative General Convention in the 3rd week of September

Kathmandu: Main opposition Party CPN-UML has decided to activate all the organizations before Jestha 2nd 2075 BS on the basis of a 10-point agreement. The party has also formed a six-member task force to honestly implement the 10-point agreement reached for party unity. The task force includes Vice Chairman Bhim Rawal, General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel, Deputy General Secretary Vishnu Poudel, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Standing Committee members Surendra Pandey and Lekhraj Bhatt.

A meeting held with leaders who were not involved in the process of partition with Madhav Nepal has also fixed the date of the party’s general convention. The Central General Convention is scheduled to be held from 26to 28 November. Similarly, the Legislative General Convention will be held from 21 to 23 September.

UML has called on the leaders of the party, including Madhav Nepal, to return to their ‘home’. Tuesday’s meeting of the standing committee, which includes leaders from the mainstream, called on leaders preparing to go to the Election Commission for formal identification to split the party on Wednesday.

After the meeting, spokesperson Pradip Gyawali said, “Stay away from the party registration process. You will be welcomed.”

The resolution further said, “It is natural for a vibrant and democratic party to have problems, differences in views on the issue and disagreement on some issues.” But, the alternative to the problem is not war. Similarly, the solution to differences is not conflict. The result of disagreement is not division. The unity of the CPN-UML is the desire of not only the millions of members and supporters of this party, but also the people and the country. ‘
