Kathmandu : CPN-UML has convened a standing committee and central committee meeting.

According to party office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang, a standing committee meeting has been called for 11 am on Monday.

He informed that the central committee meeting will held on Monday after the standing committee meeting.

Tamang said that the meeting of the standing and central committee will be held at Tulsilal Memorial Building. Though UML has called these meetings for Sunday, the meeting has been postponed for one day saying it is for party unity initiative.

UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have not discussed various issues for a long time. Recently, 22 UML MPs, including leader Nepal, had given a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on July 19.

Leaders of both the parties say that initiatives are being taken for party unity. But the standing and central committee meetings of both the parties are taking place differently.
