Kathmandu : The Supreme Court has refused to file a writ petition against the special session convened by the Lumbini province chief.
The court said that the writ petition was filed by the apex court saying that there was a lack of entitlement as the concerned parties did not come forward with the writ petition against the special session.
Advocate Pravesh KC had reached the apex court on Friday. The case was not registered that day. However, the registration was returned by the court saying that it was not possible to register today.
Province Chief Amik Sherchan has convened a special session of the province assembly on August 12 after opposition lawmakers submitted a special session. Advocate KC has reached the top on the same issue.
After the Supreme Court did not register the writ today, the way is now open for a special session of the province assembly on August 12.
Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress Lumbini Provincial Assembly Fakuriddha Khan said that the way has been paved for the discussion and decision on the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel in the special session.
Opposition coalition has nominated Kul Prasad KC, leader of the Maoist Central Parliamentary Party, as the new chief minister.
