Speaker’s instruction to remove MP Yadav’s blaming to Oli words from the record

Kathmandu: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has directed to remove the words ‘mentally’ and ‘physically’ from the record of the Parliament Secretariat.

As the House of Representatives convened on Friday, Vishal Bhattarai, chief whip of the main opposition party CPN (UML), demanded that a pro-government lawmaker utter indecent and unparliamentary words to another opposition lawmaker.

Speaking at a special meeting yesterday, CPN (Maoist Center) MP Matrika Prasad Yadav accused former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of leading the country to disaster because he was “mentally and physically unwell”.

As soon as Yadav, who is also a former minister, spoke, Chief Whip Bhattarai followed the rules in yesterday’s meeting and demanded to remove the term from the record of the parliament.

After the House of Representatives meeting began on Friday, lawmakers from the main opposition party, the CPN (UML), protested without taking seats.
