SC Short-term interim order to Govt. against the dissolution of the Land Commission

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has issued a short-term interim order against the Deuba government for dissolving the land commission.
A bench of Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada has summoned both the parties for a discussion on Bhadra 1 and ordered to keep all the activities in the status quo till that date.
A short-term interim order has been issued till 1 Bhadra 2078 BS to keep the records related to the working of the Dissolved Land Problem Resolution Commission, management of physical resources and other matters as they are without any change or conversion, the Supreme Court said in the order.

Devi Prasad Gyawali, chairperson of the disbanded commission, had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on Sunday against the governmentdecision. The Deuba government had decided to dismiss the commission saying that the CPN-UML had created the commission with the intention of fulfilling its political objectives. The CPN-Maoist, the main party in the ruling coalition, has decided not to dismiss the commission also.
