Oli faction answered to Madhav faction – the work of the party would not be stopped in the name of unity discussion

Kathmandu: CPN (UML) spokesperson Pradip Kumar Gyawali has said that the party’s work cannot be stopped in the name of unity. While Madhav Kumar Nepal’s faction is calling for creating an atmosphere of unity by stopping all party activities, Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s faction has replied that party activities cannot be stopped.

Gyawali made the remarks after a meeting of members of the standing committee, provincial leaders, members of the Legislative Amendment Committee and the committee formed to prepare political proposals convened by Chairman Oli to discuss the issues to be included in the legislative amendment.

Leader Nepal side has demanded to stop party activities for unity. Replying to a question on what are you doing, Gyawali said, “The regular work of the party is moving forward. Stopping party work in the name of discussion does not mean going to a standstill.

Gyawali said that the party’s work could not be stopped as the local level election was approaching and the party had to hold a general convention. He also said that the demand to stop party activities was not in the interest of UML.

Gyawali also said that the main opposition could not stop its work as the ruling party was moving forward aggressively.

According to Gyawali, the leaders have suggested how to take the party’s constitution to a federal structure and accordingly, the next meeting of the central committee will prepare a proposal and take it to the lower level committee for discussion.
