Kathmandu : Twenty-two invited central members of the Nepali Congress have collectively announced their resignation.

The invited central members have announced their resignation at the Central Committee meeting on Friday. A central member who was present at the meeting expressed dissatisfaction over the non-implementation of the provision that the party functionaries and central members would attend the general convention automatically.

He resigned saying that the central member invited in the Congress constitution was not given the same rights as the regional representative.

“We have not been given the same rights as the party’s regional representative,” said Kiran Poudel, an invited central member.

He demanded that the legislation should be interpreted in such a way as to make equal arrangements at all levels. He said, ‘Central Committee office bearers, members, general convention representatives, district chairpersons, regional chairpersons, state chairpersons, village-town / municipality chairpersons, ward chairpersons, office bearers and members of committees at all levels are automatically elected as representatives for a period of time. Let’s make arrangements to become. ‘

Congress Central Committee meeting has been going on since Thursday at the residence of President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanikalantha.
