Maoist questioned to Govt. about Mahakali incident

Kathmandu : The ruling CPN-Maoist Center has demanded the government to raise serious objections with India over the incident in which a Nepali national fell into the Mahakali River while the Border Security Force (BSF) was blowing Tuin’s stick.

A meeting of the CPN (MC) Standing Committee on Sunday said that serious attention had been drawn to the incident. At the same time, he said that the news that a Nepali citizen had fallen into the river due to the cutting of Tuin’s wire by the Indian SSB should be investigated immediately.

After the meeting, spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha Prakash said, “We have decided to demand the government to take necessary action with serious objections from India.”

While Jaisingh Dhami was swimming in Tuin on Friday morning, the SSB had blown the wire. Jaisingh, who fell into the Mahakali River along with Tuin’s wire, is missing. The Home Ministry has formed a committee headed by the secretary to investigate the incident. India has said that SSB was not involved in the incident.
