Kathmandu: Mahanta Thakur has applied to the Election Commission for registration of a new party. The Janata Samajwadi Party (Democratic) (JSP-D) has been registered in the commission on Wednesday with Thakur as its chairman.
Earlier, the commission had given the official status of Janata Samajwadi Party to Upendra Yadav. Thakur was only an ordinary member of the party. Before that, Thakur was the president of JSP. It is mentioned that the newly registered JSP-D have 24-central executive committee.
