Investigating Parliamentary committee has formed on Darchula incident

Kathmandu: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khan has informed the House of Representatives that the government has formed a committee to investigate the incident of Jaisingh Dhami who went missing in Mahakali while swimming in the Darchula.

In a meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, the main opposition UML demanded that the government inform the parliament about the incident.

He informed that a five-member committee headed by Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Janardan Gautam, Deputy Inspector General of Police Purushottam Kandel, Senior Superintendent of Armed Police Suresh Kumar Shrestha, Director of Investigation of National Investigation Department Hutraj Thapa and Assistant District Officer of District Administration Office Darchula Jyotsana Bhatt Joshi has been formed.

The Home Minister has informed that the committee will submit its report within 10 days.

The Home Minister has said that a plan is underway to build four suspension bridges in Darchula’s Mahakali to replace Tuin. He informed that the government is committed to construct and operate these bridges as soon as possible.

He also said that the government is committed for the construction of Khalanga-Tinkar road.

He said that the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police officials went to the spot to immediately investigate the disappearance of Jaisingh Dhami in Mahakali river.

He also said that the Darchula administration had written to the DM of Pithoragarh district of India.

He also said that security personnel from Nepal and India were searching for Dhami in Mahakali.
