Kathmandu: The Maoist Center leader Narayankaji Shrestha said that India should publicly apologize for the Darchula incident. National Assembly member Shrestha has said that India should apologize for the disappearance of Jaisingh Dhami when the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) cut off the Tuin.
In a meeting of the National Assembly on Wednesday, Shrestha said, “India should immediately issue a public apology to Nepal and the Nepali people over the Darchula incident.”
He also demanded that the investigation committee formed by the government of Nepal should immediately find out the facts and take action against the culprits and provide relief to the victims. He also warned India not to act in a heinous manner these days. Although efforts are being made to find a solution through the diplomatic initiative of the recent incident, Shrestha has demanded that the report of the inquiry committee be made public as soon as possible and that serious protests be staged before India.
“We should bring the report of the inquiry committee to the notice of the Indian government as soon as possible and demand action against the culprits and provide immediate relief and compensation to the families of the victims,” he said.
Similarly, Shrestha said that the Nepali people have suffered from the incident. ‘The pain that the Nepali people have suffered from this kind of inhuman and cruel incident. It is not right for that pain to break the barrier of patriotism and come to retaliation and counter-defense on its own. Therefore, the government should address this issue immediately, ‘he said.
Jaisingh Dhami, a young man who went for foreign employment after the broke off the Tuin while fleeing Mahakali river, went missing in Mahakali on July 31.
