Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has expressed the government’s commitment to provide full assistance to the flood-affected people.

While visiting and observing the flood-affected area in Manang district across the Himalayas on Saturday, he said, “This government is with you, we are with your grief, the coalition government is with you.”

Prachanda said that Sindhupalchowk and Manang have been badly damaged by floods and landslides for the past 100 years. He said that we will immediately provide shelter and food to the affected people.

A team of people’s representatives including Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal and party leader Dev Gurung, led by former Prime Minister Prachanda, had observed various flood-affected areas in Pisang, Chame and Naso villages of Manang.

CPN (M) Chairman Prachanda has been saying that the gun given by Dev Gurung from Manang was used in the people’s war started in 1996. Prachanda has been interested in the development of Manang even during the People’s War and Peace process period.
