Kathmandu : Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has announced to provide free electricity to the people living below the poverty line. During a meeting with the Ministers of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation at the Ministry on Thursday, Minister Bhusal said that she has made preparations to allow the people living below the poverty line to consume free electricity.

She informed that she is preparing to reduce the electricity tariff for those who use more electricity at home. She said, “I am preparing to provide basic electricity to the basic people below the poverty line by giving them free electricity.” We are almost reaching that conclusion. In order to increase domestic consumption, I have prepared it with the aim of lowering the rate for those who burn more. ‘

Minister for Energy Bhusal said that she would be active in irrigating all the cultivable lands. She said that the free irrigation service would end the consumption of foreign oil and drive pumps and motors and the national economy would grow.
