Kathmandu: Upendra Yadav has been unanimously elected as the leader of the parliamentary party of the Janata Samajwadi Party. Yadav was unanimously selected at a party meeting held at the parliamentary party’s office in Singha Durbar on Saturday.
According to MP Pradip Kumar Yadav, the meeting of the parliamentary parties unanimously elected Yadav as the leader.
Yadav has been elected the leader of the parliamentary party with the support of Dr.Baburam Bhattarai’s proposal and Mahindra Ray Yadav.
A meeting of the party chaired by senior party member Mahindra Rai Yadav. The party meeting was attended by 21 out of 32 MPs.
After the three-member election committee formed under the convener of Nawaraj Subedi made public the schedule for the election of the parliamentary party, only Yadav’s candidature was received.
Yadav was selected as the leader after the lawmakers expressed their views.
