Verosell and J&J vaccine will be given from today

Kathmandu : The Department of Health Services is going to start the next phase of vaccination campaign from today. According to the Department of Health Services, a vaccination campaign against coronavirus will be launched in all 77 districts.

According to the department, the first dose of Verosell vaccine purchased from China will be given to all citizens above 55 years of age. Similarly, university professors, school teachers and staff, drivers and co-drivers working in public transport, citizens who have missed out on vaccination by engaging in essential services will get it. Apart from that, Nepali citizens going for foreign employment in the countries where vaccination has been made compulsory will also be able to get Verosel vaccine.

Similarly, the Johnson vaccine, provided by the US government as a grant, will be given to people in the age group of 50 to 54 who have missed the first dose. The vaccine will also be available to people with full and severe disabilities, refugees currently living in Nepal, health workers working in health facilities and sanitation workers.

The government of Nepal has purchased and brought 800,000 doses of Verosel vaccine from China on Friday alone. On Monday, the US government provided 1.5 million doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine to the Johnson & Johnson company. Only one dose of Jansen vaccine will be enough.
The process of importing 4 million vaccines from China has already started. One million doses of Covishield vaccine , which has already been remitted from India, are yet to arrive.
