Kathmandu : CPN-UML has directed to withdraw the signature of Madhav faction’s to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba to become the Prime Minister within two days.
The ongoing Central Committee meeting in Baluwatar has directed 23 members of the dissolved House of Representatives, including Madhav Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal, to withdraw their signatures and stand on the side of the party.
Fifteen directly elected and eight proportional MPs from Madhav’s faction have signed a writ petition in the Supreme Court to make Deuba the prime minister. In the meeting, General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel submitted the proposal and said that the outgoing parliamentarian was given two days to implement party’s direction.
During the meeting, Chairman Oli said that he is the leader of the party but it is not acceptable to make the leader of other parties the prime minister and act in the interest of the opposition.
