The government side debate is over, the speaker’s lawyer will get 2 hours on Sunday

Kathmandu : The government side has ended the debate on the issue of dissolving the House of Representatives demanding the appointment of the Prime Minister of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, as per Article 76 (5) of the constitution.

Eleven government lawyers argued in the Constitutional bench headed by Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JBR on Friday.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s legal adviser Baburam Dahal, senior advocates Ramesh Guragain and Vishwamani Adhikari and advocates Ishwari Prasad Bhattarai, Bhojraj Acharya, CP Regmi, Bal Bahadur Rai, Shanti Devi Khanal, Bishnumaya Bhusal, Ananta Luintel and Loknath Kharel had debated on Friday.

Speaker Agni Sapkota’s lawyer is scheduled to hold a debate on Sunday after the government side debates.

Earlier, the bench had fixed a time limit of one hour for the Speaker.

The speaker’s lawyers demanded an extension of time, giving him two hours on Sunday.

After the debate of the Speaker’s counsel, the writ petitioner’s reply will be debated and the amicus curiae will be debated.
