Kathmandu : Police have arrested four persons for raiding Red Bull stores in five places in Kathmandu Valley.
The crime branch of the metropolitan police has arrested four people on the charge of selling banned caffeinated energy drink ‘Red Bull’.
The branch has arrested Rabin Raj Shrestha, operator of Pranab Store New Road, Dhan Bahadur Shrestha of Okhaldhunga Champadevi, operator of Shaktimata Store, Kapan, Raju Poudel of Banke Kohalpur and Birendra Chaudhary of Sarlahi Haripur. Police said that 202 cartoons were recovered from them.
According to the information in Chapter 1, Chapter 4 of Gazette Part 2, published in Nepal onaJesth 20, 2076, caffeinated energy drinks, flavored synthetic drinks and other beverages cannot be sold or distributed. But traders have continued to sell it against the law.
According to the police, a special team deployed by the division arrested the four while distributing Red Bulls from New Road, Sinamangal, Old Baneshwor and Kapan, Gothatar in Kathmandu Valley.
