Possibility of continuous rain: Urge to be careful

Kathmandu: Meteorologists have estimated that the entire monsoon season will be rainy this year. Meteorologists estimate that this year’s monsoon rains, which did not have a ‘monsoon break’ even after a month of continuous rains, could continue for three consecutive months.

Meteorologist Shanti Kandel said, “The monsoon rains should have stopped shortly after the onset of the monsoon, but this year it has not been seen. According to her, the past seasonal trends have shown that the sky is clear after the rain has stopped for a few days. This year, the monsoon has reached its second month without a break.

In the previous year, the monsoon used to break around a week or fortnight. The rains have not stopped for a month this year. According to meteorologists, even though the sun has been shining for an hour, it has been more than a month since the weather improved.

According to meteorologist Meenkumar Aryal, the weather will turn into light to moderate rain from Friday rather than full opening. He said, “There is a slight improvement but it is unlikely that the rains will stop. ”

The flow of Koshi and its tributaries Sunkoshi, Bhotekoshi, Tamakoshi, Dudhkoshi, Arun and Tamor has been increasing since Thursday. Similarly, the Narayani River and its tributaries Trishuli, Budhigandaki, Kaligandaki and other rivers have become high and the danger of crossing the alert level has increased.

Chief of the Flood Forecasting Branch Bikram Juwa has requested to be vigilant as the rivers going to the Terai have high flow in Bagmati, Kamala, Kankai, East Rapti and Tinau rivers. Heavy rains have been recorded in Madi of Chitwan and Nawalpur of Nawalparasi recently. Due to which, there is a danger of high flow in the local river in those areas and entering the village.
