Kathmandu : CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has rejected the proposal of senior CPN-UML leader Madhav Nepal faction to stop the standing committee meeting.
Talking to the leaders of both sides Oli’s residence in Balkot, Chairman Oli answered that the meeting could not be stopped forever.
Members of the UML Unity Task Force had reached Balkot on Saturday evening to meet party Chairman Oli.
Earlier, the members of the task force had a discussion at Singha Durbar.
Friday’s standing committee meeting has already dissolved the task force. The Nepal side did not participate in the meeting.
The Nepal side had requested to stop the standing committee meeting. But Oli had a one-sided meeting. Oli has called another standing committee meeting for today.
UML secretary Bhim Acharya said that they had requested to stop the meeting on Sunday.
‘Now, 10 points should be implemented through informal discussions. We said that you and Madhav should stay in one table for that, Acharya said, “In response, the party chairman said that always stopped the meeting how can it be done.” Let’s see what he do now.
Party secretary Pradip Gyawali, who is close to Oli, said that the chairman had requested them to join the party as he had already accepted the 10-point agreement.
After Oli conducted the meeting unilaterally, there is a crisis even for those who want to join with Oli from Madhav’s side.
Oli stressed the to Madhav factions leader and workers, came to the party and worked unconditionally. Oli have already given the message that there is no need to worry about them if they leaving the party also.
The second tier leaders of Oli’s factions are trying their best to keep the second tier leaders and cadres of Madhav’s faction in the party as much as possible.
Though Madhav Nepal is preparing to form his own party.
