Kathmandu. Though Madhav Nepal’s side requested CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to postpone the meeting of the standing committee, Oli refused.

Leaders including Bhim Rawal had reached the meeting place to hold a meeting of the Standing Committee, Central Committee and Parliamentary Party to implement the agreement reached by the task force.

After Chairman Oli refused to stop the meeting, Rawal informed after leaving the meeting place. “We request the party chairman to speak on behalf of the task force. The chairman asked him to sign the attendance book.” I asked him to speak as the UML vice-chairman, ‘Rawal said of the meeting.’ He did not agree to hold a meeting of the standing committee and central committee after implementing the 10-point proposal. Oli told us to move on from the meeting without letting him speak and then we left. ‘

Although Rawal requested for talks between Chairman Oli and Leader Nepal for the implementation of the 10-point agreement, the chairman did not agree, Rawal said. Rawal along with Ghanshyam Bhusal, Gokarna Bista, Bhim Acharya and Surendra Pandey reached the meeting place. They all left after Oli did not listen to their request.

Speaking at the Standing Committee meeting, Chairman Oli said that he would play the role of a strong opposition. At a meeting of the standing committee held at Chayasal in Lalitpur, he said that he would go among the people and warn the opposition.

“We have been treated unfairly by the court,” Ol said. ‘Now we have to go to the people with this’.
A meeting of the UML Standing Committee is being held to review the latest political developments and decide the future strategy of the party.

Only members of Chairman KP Oli’s faction are present in the meeting. Standing committee members of Madhav Nepal’s side are not participating in the meeting.

While the two sides are said to be trying to unite, this incident has further alienated both sides. Only two days ago, Chairman Oli had declared Madhav Nepal a traitor from his private residence. He had said that he would allow others in Madhav’s faction to work unconditionally. Oli has not yet commented on the 10-point proposal.
