Kathmandu : Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa has requested Sher Bahadur Deuba not to hold any meeting of the party at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
“We have requested PM Sher Bahadur Deuba not to hold any party meeting in Baluwatar,” Thapa wrote on Twitter on Monday morning. However, he assured that this will not happen from now on. Thapa also urged Deuba to maintain this commitment and trust.
When KP Sharma Oli was the Prime Minister, most of the time his party meetings were in Baluwatar and there was widespread criticism from the people. The Congress, which was in the main opposition at the time, had been saying that the party’s program should not be held at the official residence. Gagan Thapa reminded the same thing to Prime Minister Deuba, who is also the party president. But as soon as Deuba’s official residence was shifted to Baluwatar, a meeting of party officials was held there.
