‘Ex-Maoist’ MP files writ petition seeking reinstatement

Kathmandu : Former lawmakers Lekhraj Bhatt, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Prabhu Sah and Gauri Shankar Chaudhary, who left the CPN (Maoist center) and joined the CPN-UML, have filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court seeking reinstatement of the member of the parliament.
Bhatt, Rayamajhi, Sah and Chaudhary, who were elected MPs from the CPN (Maoist Center), were removed from the party after the party backed KP Oli. The four former lawmakers have filed a petition in the court seeking reinstatement saying that the party had illegally removed them from the parliament.

Spokesperson of the Supreme Court Baburam Dahal said that the writ petition will be heard tomorrow.

Earlier, ‘ex-Maoist’ leaders within the UML had gone to the Election Commission to lodge a complaint against the CPN (M). Their application was rejected by the commission.Now they are central committee member of CPN -UML.
