China celebrates the founding day of the Communist Party on July 1. This year is special because it marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party. This is the only such incident in world politics. On this occasion, Secretary-General Xi Jinping is addressing a large gathering to be held in Tiananmen Square, Beijing.

Exciting hundred year old youth party

One hundred years ago, influenced by the Russian Bolshevik Revolution, a few dozen young men founded the Communist Party in the French-controlled area of Shanghai. Before the establishment, the police had intervened and dispersed the youths. Escaping police intervention, they fled to nearby Jiaxing. Thirteen youth had formed a party by sitting in a boat in a lake there.

The party that was started in secret is not only the largest and most powerful political movement in the world. It has even succeeded in performing miracles in the world and making life easier for most people.

When the Chinese Communist Party was founded, China was a poor and civil war-torn country. At that time, the party had only 50 members.

In 1927, the Communist Party, weakened by Chiang Kai-shek’s attack, formed the Red Army. Mao Tsetung emerged as the party’s leader with the famous Long March of 1934-35. In particular, the support of the rural population remained with the Communist Party. Mao became Chairman in 1945. The Communist Party came to power in 1949 under the leadership of the skilled strategist Mao. On October 1 of that year, Chairman Mao announced the establishment of the People’s Republic of China. With Mao’s seizure of power, the old ruler Chiang Kai-shek fled to the island of Taiwan.

After coming to power, Mao emphasized industrial development. After Mao’s death in 1976, a political and economic reform campaign was launched in China. The next five decades have seen rapid economic growth under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. As a result, millions of people have been lifted out of poverty and China has emerged as the world’s leading power. Its main credit goes to the strong foundations of the 25-year rule of Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai.

The Communist Party of China, which came to power 30 years after its founding, now has more than 90 million party members. It is led by 20 percent of the world’s population. Under the party’s leadership, China has become the world’s second-largest economy and undermines the confidence of the United States.

At the age of 100, the Chinese Communist Party seems to be gaining strength. The Chinese Communist Party is one of the rare communist parties in power in the 21st century.

In China, the structure of the Communist Party and government is somewhat integrated. The Communist Party holds two-thirds of the legislature. The central, provincial and local governments are led by the Communist Party. Other smaller parties are also represented in China’s National People’s Congress. However, he acknowledges the leadership of the Communist Party.

All kinds of rumors and speculations were proved wrong by the CPC.

Whenever a new trend emerges in China and the world, it is predicted to end the rule of the Chinese Communist Party. When the invention of the Internet caused the collapse of the Communist Party, when consumerism and the expansion of the middle class. Recently, covid-19 was claimed to be a ‘Chernobyl disaster’ for China.

In 1991 an article, After Leninism: The New World Disorder, Ken Jowitt, an American political scientist, claimed that the Leninist parties had been disappearing worldwide since 1989 and that the Chinese Communist Party would soon disappear. Not only did J. Whitt say that Fukuyama was the author of the end of history, but he was also proudly mention ‘The End of History,” Francis Fukuyama has taken the view that “the triumph of the West, of the Western idea, is evident first of all in the total exhaustion of viable systematic alternatives to Western liberalism.”His allowance for the “sudden appearance of new ideologies or previously unrecognized contradictions in liberal societies” is a throwaway. For him, Hitler, the Nazi revolution, and World War II were a “diseased bypath in the general course of European development.” Similarly, his allowance that the “fascist alternative may not have been played out yet in the Soviet Union,” is a liberal Goliath’s view of a possible fascist David.”

Mikhail Gorbachev was the first leader in the Soviet Union to be born after the 1917 revolution. As soon as he came to power, the Soviet Union collapsed. In China, too, Xi Jinping was the first leader to come to power after the 1949 revolution. On that basis, some predicted that China would disintegrate as soon as Xi came to power.

One after another, the party has been disproving the predictions made about the future of China and the Chinese Communist Party.

The greatest strength of the Chinese Communist Party over the past hundred years has been its ability to adapt to the new environment. From the Long March that ensured Mao’s rise to Deng Xiaoping’s economic reforms, communist leaders seem to have made practical decisions, ignoring ideology.

Due to this pragmatism in economic policy, China’s GDP has increased almost 50 times since 1970. Within this decade, it is expected to surpass the United States.

After the 2008 financial crisis, the US economic model began to change. Some claim that China has now offered an alternative to the model in the West. With the success of epidemic control, China’s confidence seems to have more increased.

China’s wide circulated newspaper Global times wrote an editorial to emphasis and compare CPC and western political parties : ‘In the West, a political party is only one factor in maintaining the balance of political power in a country, and its responsibility for the development of the country is very limited. But China is a different story. China was a poor country in the early days when the country was founded, and it could not even build a tractor at that time. It needs strong development full of continuity. And the CPC undertook the mission of leading the people to realize the dream of Chinese people generation by generation.”

In fact, China and the Communist Party face great challenges. Population growth rate is very low. Environmental disasters are on the rise. Rising economic inequality has made life difficult for many. The price of real estate is skyrocketing, debt is rising. Young people have to compete fiercely for good schools and good employment.

Tensions are rising with the United States. The United States has said in a statement that the rise of China has threatened the world order under its leadership, while Beijing has accused Washington of abandoning the Cold War mentality. On the other hand, some speculate that Xi Jinping planned to unify Taiwan into China within his own tenure. However, analysts say the threat of war remains.

After Mao Zedong, President Xi is credited with establishing China on the world political stage by formulating a global strategy. Mainly disciplined party workers, tolerant and hardworking Chinese people and honest public servants can be considered as the main basis of the success of the Chinese Communist Party. On this occasion, heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Chinese Communist Party, President Xi Jinping and the entire Chinese people.
