76 (5) will not have a party whip, MPs will be free to vote

Kathmandu : The Supreme Court has issued an order to appoint Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister.

The Constitutional Court has issued an order to appoint Deuba as the Prime Minister within two days.

The Supreme Court has also ruled that the party whip will not be used in the process as per Article 76 (5) of the constitution and the parliamentarians will be free to vote.

At the same time, UML lawmakers have freed the way for a vote of confidence in Deuba.
