“The signatures of 149 MPs are the basis of appointment Of PM, the testing ground is not the door of the president.”

Kathmandu : His lawyer has claimed that the President should not stop Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba from becoming the Prime Minister after the majority MPs submitted their signatures for the appointment of the Prime Minister under Article 76 (5) of the Constitution.

During the hearing of the writ petition against the dissolution of the House of Representatives on Wednesday in the Constitutional Court headed by the Chief Justice, Senior Advocate Badri Bahadur Karki said that 149 people were in favor of Deuba.

“This is the basis after a majority of the members of the House of Representatives sign the nomination for the PM’s post. The House of Representatives, not the President’s door, is the place to test whether the newly appointed PM will get a vote of confidence or not,” Karki said.

Karki claimed that the petitioner’s demand for the appointment of the Prime Minister had been received and that the President should not be distracted by the change of party. Karki, who was given one hour to debate, said that the Prime Minister, who has lost the confidence of the House of Representatives, should not sit in his chair for even a minute.
