Sharing a video of Mustang being vaccinated, the WHO chief told, “How just is it not to vaccinate such heroes?”

Kathmandu : Tedros, the director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), has expressed concern over a video of a Mustang being vaccinated in a dangerously flooded river.

He praised the health workers for the vaccine against the corona virus in the world, and expressed concern by tweeting a quote.

In a tweet, he expressed concern that vaccines against corona could not be delivered to health workers in many places.

He says vaccinating health workers is not fair. “This video shows how health workers work to save lives. How justified is it that in many places such heroes are not vaccinated? ‘ Tedros said.

The story of the video shared by Dr. Tedros was published some Nepali media. The video shows health workers carrying vaccine boxes in the flooded river with the help of sticks.

In the Trans-Himalayan Mustang, citizens over the age of 55 were scheduled to be vaccinated with the second dose of coronavirus on June 15.

Thasang village municipality ward no. 1 Tukuche and 2 Kobang were not vaccinated. The District Health Office had delivered the vaccine to the primary health center of Thasang-4 Lete.

Village Health Coordinator Sitaram Karki urged the health post chiefs of Tukuche and Kobang to come for vaccination in the morning of June 15. But they did not have a car. Aheb Sabin Khatri of Tukuche Health Post and Lal Bahadur Rokaya, Health Assistant of Kobang Health Post went to get the vaccine by asking for a motorcycle from the ward office.

The first dose of vaccine against corona in Mustang was given on March 7 and 8. In Tukuche, the first dose was given by 60 senior citizens above 55 years of age. Now the second dose was given by 64 people. The four added are citizens living outside Mustang before. Who had been vaccinated with the first dose.

The video of Tukuche and Kobang being vaccinated from a flooded river has gone viral on social media. The video was shot by Aheb Savin of Tukuche.

“I shot that video,” Savin said. “I never thought it would go viral.”

After the vaccination, Savin showed it to Angela Thakali of the health post.

“We’re so sorry, sister,” Savin told Angela. Angela asked for the video to be posted on social media, but Savin refused.
