Kathmandu June 15 : A new academic session has started in schools from today. Under the new academic session, a nationwide student recruitment drive will be launched from today and studies will start from July 15.

President of the Federation of Community School Management, Krishna Thapa, said,

Due to covid-19, the regular new academic session has been postponed for two months and started on July 20. The schedule of the federal government was to start the recruitment campaign from June 15 by spreading propaganda for new recruits.

Textbooks should be made available to students within the timeframe of this enrollment campaign. Local levels have instructed schools to make public student assessment results and conduct enrollment campaigns.

The Ministry of Education had decided to amend the regulations and delay the academic session by two months after schools like other areas were affected due to the coronavirus infection. In previous years, the academic session of schools used to start from April.

A minimum of 180 days or one thousand hours should be taught in an academic session. Generally, the school operates for about two hundred days apart from public holidays and weekly holidays.
