Natural disasters: 15 killed, 16 injured, 25 missing in a week

Kathmandu : Fifteen people have died in a week due to floods and landslides in different parts of the country after incessant rains. Nine men, three women, two boys and a girl were among the dead, according to police. Three people have been killed in floods and landslides in Sindhupalchowk and Doti districts. Similarly, one person was killed in Saptari, Kavre, Gorkha, Jumla, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Kaski, Kalikot and Bajura, according to the police. Of them, 10 are men, four are women and two are girls.

Six were injured in Sindhupalchowk, three in Myagdi, two each in Jumla and Doti, and one each in Kaski, Syangja and Salyan. The injured have been taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Similarly, 25 people have gone missing across the country due to floods and landslides. Of them, 17 are men, five are women, two are boys and one is a girl. Seventeen people have gone missing in Sindhupalchowk, seven in Jajarkot and one in Bajura. The search for the missing is underway, police said.
